You can cut metals, plastic, drywall, and all types of wood with the RYOBI Jigsaws depending on the blade inserted. Check the blade for its cutting and material capacity or packaging on an aftermarket blade.

Avoid using solvents when cleaning your Jigsaw, as most plastics are susceptible to various types of commercial solvents and could cause damage to your unit. Instead, use a clean cloth or a paint brush to remove any saw dust, dirt or debris.

To cut metal, use the correct blade (check packaging). Usually, metal-cutting blades will have finer teeth. It is recommended you practice the speed/pace of cutting metal in an offcut/scrap piece before attempting a cut on your intended work piece.

RYOBI Jigsaws don’t require any major assembly to get started. However, the blade isn’t inserted into the Jigsaw when you unbox the unit, so you’ll need to fit the blade correctly before operation.
