Do I need a spanner to remove the locking nut & disc from a RYOBI Angle Grinder?

Some RYOBI Angle Grinder models feature a tool-free blade change system using a FixTec Locking Nut, which eliminates the need for a pin spanner. 

The FixTec nut helps prevent overtightening — it should only be hand-tightened. This makes disc removal easier, especially on grinders with an integrated safety clutch. 

Other models may require a wrench for disc changes. If that’s the case, the wrench will have been supplied with your tool. 

If you misplace the nut or wrench, replacements are available from your local Bunnings store.
