Router makes excessive noise

11/02/2025, 13:16

This is not a valid return reason. Assist the customer with the following steps to avoid excessive noise:

Is the Router bit dull?
A dull or worn router bit can create more noise as it struggles to cut through materials. Inspect the router bit for sharpness and replace it if necessary.

Are you using the right speed setting for your task?
Make sure the router's speed setting is appropriate for your specific routing task and material. Using too high a speed for the material being cut can generate excessive noise.

Is the router's base assembled correctly?
Ensure that the router's base is securely attached to the motor housing. Loose or improperly tightened base components can cause rattling noises. Ensure all screws and bolts are tightened.

Are you cutting dense material?
Some materials, particularly hardwoods or dense materials, can generate more noise when routed. Consider using ear protection when working with loud materials.
