Impact driver bit compatibility and usage tips
1. Bit compatibility
- Impact drivers are designed to accept only ¼” (6.35 mm) hex shank bits.
- To insert a bit, push it into the chuck until it clicks into place.
- To remove the bit, pull back the chuck sleeve—it cannot be removed by simply pulling on the bit.
2. Preventing bit slippage
- Inspect the bit tip for excessive wear—worn or low-quality bits are more likely to slip.
- Use the correct bit type and size for the fastener. Refer to the fastener packaging for guidance.
- Hold the impact driver straight and apply firm pressure to ensure a secure connection between the bit and fastener.
- When driving screws, apply forward pressure on the screw while gradually increasing pressure on the trigger.
