Why is my RYOBI Thicknesser gouging the end of my timber?

  • The scalloping is known as "Snipe". It’s caused by the operator tilting the material at the beginning and/or at the end of the planing path.
  • It's important to feed and support the timber as it exits the machine as parallel to the table.
  • This is more difficult when handling longer lengths of timber, which requires a second person to assist with supporting the timber. Having timber longer than you actually need will allow for some head room for snipe.
