Troubleshooting Sanding Performance

  1. Check the Sanding Pad
Ensure the sanding pad is in good condition and securely attached. A worn or damaged pad can prevent proper sanding.
  2. Use the Correct Grit Sandpaper

    • Coarse grit (80 or lower): Best for removing large amounts of material, such as stripping paint or smoothing rough timber.
    • Fine grit (120 or higher): Ideal for finishing tasks, such as sanding between coats of paint or varnish, or smoothing surfaces.
  3. Avoid Excessive Pressure
Do not press too hard on the tool. Applying too much pressure can slow the oscillation and reduce sanding efficiency. Let the tool do the work—use light, even pressure.
  4. Check Speed Settings
Make sure the variable speed dial is set appropriately for the material and task. Lower speeds are better for delicate work; higher speeds for faster material removal.
  5. Inspect for Debris
Remove any dust or debris from the pad and accessory mount, as this can affect performance.
