Troubleshooting Power and Cutting Performance
1. Check the Speed Setting
Ensure the variable speed dial is turned up. A low setting can make cutting feel slow or weak.
2. Use the Correct Blade for the Material
- Inspect the blade tooth profile:
- Fine teeth usually indicate a blade suitable for metal.
- Aggressive teeth are typically designed for wood.
Using the wrong blade can significantly reduce cutting efficiency.
3. Avoid Excessive Pressure
Do not force the blade through the material. Applying too much pressure can slow the oscillation and reduce cutting speed. Let the tool do the work. Steady, controlled pressure is best.
4. Check Blade Condition
A worn or damaged blade will cut poorly. Replace the blade if teeth are dull or bent.
5. Clear Debris
Remove any build-up of material around the blade or clamp, as this can affect performance.
