Pressure Washer isn’t providing enough power

13/02/2026, 21:48

Confirm Water Supply
Low pressure often starts with weak water flow. Fully open the outdoor faucet, then disconnect the garden hose from the washer and let water run for 30 seconds to confirm you have a strong, steady stream. Check the hose for any kinks or loops that could be restricting flow.

Clean the Spray Nozzle
A clogged nozzle is a very common cause of low or no pressure. Remove the nozzle from the wand and clear it with a nozzle-cleaning pin or a straightened paper clip. Rinse it thoroughly with water, then reinstall it and test the pressure.

Purge Air From the Pump
Air trapped in the pump can prevent pressure from building. Turn off the washer and remove the nozzle, then turn on the water supply with the machine off. Squeeze the trigger and let water flow freely for 1–2 minutes to flush out air. Reinstall the nozzle and turn the machine back on.
