How to Remove a Blade from a Left-Hand Circular Saw
Safety First
1. Disconnect the power source
- For corded saws: unplug from the mains.
- For cordless saws: remove the battery pack.
This prevents accidental activation.
2. Wear eye protection and gloves to avoid injury.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Engage the spindle lock
- Press and hold the spindle lock button (or use the locking mechanism provided) to stop the spindle from turning.
2. Move the lower blade guard out of the way
- Lift or retract the guard using the retracting handle so you can access the spindle and blade.
- Keep fingers clear of the blade area at all times.
3. Loosen the blade bolt
- Use the Allen key supplied with the saw to turn the bolt clockwise to loosen it.
4. Remove the outer flange and blade
- Take off the outer flange and carefully slide the blade off the spindle.
- Handle the blade carefully—it may still be sharp or hot.
5. Release the blade guard
- Ensure the guard moves freely and automatically covers the spindle area.
Final Checks
- Store the blade safely away from the work area.
- Reconnect the power only when you are ready to fit a new blade or resume work.
