The Drain Valve is used to drain the stored compressed air moisture inside the tank, which is built up over the time. The more frequently you use your Air Compressor, the more moisture builds up, and failure to drain can lead to corrosion inside the tank.

To drain the moisture:
Step Action
1 With power to the Air Compressor off/disconnected, very slowly open the Drain Valve clockwise to release any moisture within the tank.
2 The Compressor’s tank will be under high-pressure and draining the tank will produce a loud ‘hissing’ sound. We advise wearing some noise-reducing PPE.
3 Once the moisture has been expelled, retighten the valve in an counter-clockwise direction to complete the process.
4 Afterwards, if you notice there is air leaking from the drain valve, double-check that it is tightly shut.
5 If your model has a rubber gasket fitted to the plug, check that it’s positioned at the top.
