How Do I Prevent Battery Overheating?

05/12/2025, 13:16

Battery overheating can shorten battery life and reduce mower performance. Here’s how to prevent it:

  • Avoid Extreme Heat: Do not mow during the hottest part of the day. High ambient temperatures combined with heavy load can cause batteries to overheat.
  • Take Breaks: If mowing a large area, pause every 15–20 minutes to let the battery cool.
  • Proper Charging: Never charge the battery immediately after mowing. Allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before placing it on the charger.
  • Storage Tips: Store batteries indoors in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or inside a hot shed.
  • Use High-Performance Batteries: HP batteries are designed to handle higher loads and heat better than standard packs.
