Troubleshooting: Corded Multi-Tool Will Not Start
- Check Extension Cord Use
- Long extension cords (over 25 metres) can cause power loss.
- Avoid using excessively long cords and ensure the cord is rated for power tools.
- Inspect the Power Cord
- Check the tool’s power cord for any signs of damage.
- Important: A damaged cord voids the warranty and should not be used.
- Test the Power Source
- Plug the tool directly into a working power point to confirm the outlet is functioning.
- Check Accessory Installation
- Ensure any accessory (blade, sanding pad, etc.) is properly installed and not obstructing the tool’s operation.
- Consider Overheating
- If the tool turns on after a short break, it may have overheated.
- Multi-tools can shut down automatically when hot.
- Allow the tool to cool before restarting and consider shorter usage intervals with breaks.
If the tool still does not start and is within its warranty period, return it to Bunnings with your receipt or proof of purchase for a warranty assessment.
