23/01/2026, 16:35

Not recommended for plasterboard

It is not recommended to use your Ryobi sander to sand down plasterboard.
Sanding plasterboard produces fine dust that can be hazardous and damaging to the sander.

Precautions if sanding plaster

Wear PPE

  • Dust mask or respirator P2, FFP2, or N95 (plaster dust is harmful).
  • Safety glasses and hearing protection.

Use dust extraction

Attach a vacuum adaptor to the dust port for effective dust collection.
It is recommended that this vacuum is at least L class and/or has a HEPA filter due to the nature of plaster dust.
